A Comment About Comments
I have been toying with turning off the comments feature on my blog, mostly because of all the Viagra, debt consolidation, and other spam that I wade through every couple days. (I am pretty sure I don’t need these products.)
However, I have struck up good conversations with some people who posted comments, both favorable and unfavorable, and that is one of the best parts of blogging.
I especially enjoy those people who don't like what I have written but are too ashamed, embarrassed, or lack the confidence to put their real name and email address with their comment. It is so much easier to write unsubstantiated and sometimes spiteful criticisms when done anonymously, but it destroys your argument because you don’t even believe in it enough to stand behind it. If you have something to say, think it through, make a good argument, and take a stand. But don't be a coward and hide behind anonymity.
